A Change of Tone
Voice and tone; pre-cursors to a shift in moods.
Sometimes without any knowledge of it. Not until all the words have been spat out so quickly. It is then that if the listener does not take offense first, I notice myself that I suddenly I have began speaking like the most furious person. Snapping and quick tempered.
If I am not careful a bad shift in my mood can happen next. A shift of fury and rage. It is up to me at this point to catch myself and do what I can to avoid this.
Listening to ourselves is an important tool in the management of moods.

Thanks for drawing my attention to that.
I agree. Since I've been diagnosed with bipolar I am more in tune with my moods, I can manage them better and even though I have my "Moments" (I am Human)...it is not that bad in the end.
You're 100% right. In my case, while I try to be self aware, I have a spouse who doesn't hesitate to tell when I'm being an A-hole. Hence, my early warning system.
with me thats impossible. whenever i realize i'm inside bipolar rage i've already said or done something pretty damaging.
here here to that.
Training yourself to listen and trust your own instincts is the most powerful way to achieve self-awareness.

Sara-
listen to yourself...you have the power to do this too. Listen to yourself when you are happy, manic, sad, angry....listen to the changes...eventually you may be able to learn the tone of pre-rage. Perhaps it is one of frustration or something similar. Good Luck ;)

I have also started a blog about information that I have been researching about it. My blog is at http://understand-bipolar.blogspot.com

After a few months I learned how to control my emotions. I am not perfect at it but know what to do when I am getting too stressed out. Take a break and do something for me!
